Pisgah Trail Maintenance - Saturday, August 8, 2009

John Herrick, Ginny Knapp and friend Peter meet at the Kilburn Trailhead.  We cut and replaced logs crossing a swampy, muddy area on the western side of the Kilburn trail.  Then we walked up the Davis Hill trail, had lunch on the top at the vista, walked along Baker Pond and then past the dynamite bunkers and returned to the Kilburn Trailhead.  It was a very nice day and great walk.

Pisgah Reservoir Kayaking - Saturday, July 18, 2009

We gathered at the Route 119 Ashuelot parking lot with our kayaks and those lent to us by Summers' Backcountry Outfitters.  It was a beautiful July day and after loading all the kayaks and people into 4 wheel drive trucks we headed up the road to the Pisgah Reservoir.  Once on the Reservoir we enjoyed the sunny, blue skies while kayaking around the Reservoir.  We had lunch on a small island and several enjoyed swimming off large rocks.

Pisgah Trail Maintenance - Saturday, April 11, 2009

A record group of volunteers from towns all around the region, including Northfield, MA arrived at the Kilburn Trailhead to help with the monthly trail work and hike.   After a discussion of what trails were most in need, it was decided that the group would split into three groups.  (This turnout was fantastic and greatly appreciated!)   One pack of volunteers left to tackle the eastern side of Kilburn.  Another hopped into a truck and started at the southern tip of the Kilburn Loop near the Waterworks in Hinsdale and worked north on the western side of the loop.&
